	WHY CARBON ZERO? The cars we drive produce hundreds of kilograms of carbon dioxide. It’s all part of the normal operation of the internal combustion engine - something that many of us simply accept. The emissions of carbon dioxide and other “Greenhouse gases” are trapping the Earth’s heat in the atmosphere - leading to rising global temperatures, climate change and an uncertain future for our environment. A very efficient way to offset the carbon dioxide that your car produces is to plant enough trees to soak or ‘lock up’ the carbon dioxide.
	INTRODUCING CARBON ZERO Carbon Zero offers Lexus of Adelaide new vehicle customers an easy way to offset the carbon dioxide emissions from their vehicles through biodiverse tree planting in the Lexus of Adelaide forest. For a small donation, Lexus of Adelaide clients can now add to the Lexus of Adelaide forest to make a substantial difference. The donation amount will be calculated according to the amount of carbon dioxide emissions produced by each different Lexus model. The trees will be planted and maintained by The Canopy Project (Canopy), who together with Greening Australia, will handle every aspect of the Carbon Zero program including: planning contract compliance carbon dioxide monitoring tree care Carbon Zero is a not-for-profit program, with Lexus of Adelaide not receiving any income from this initiative.
